Chad Pettit is an author, poet, teacher, and instructional coach. He graduated Summa cum laude in 2021 with his M.A. in English, rhetoric and composition emphasis. Chad is also a certified teacher consultant for the Central Texas Writing Project, a partner of the National Writing Project.

Chad has had many job titles in his 42 years, including Martial Arts Instructor, Infantry Soldier, Fuel Laboratory Technician, CNC Lathe Operator, Military Firing Range Technician, and English Teacher.

Two combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom left Chad permanently scarred by trauma that he hid for years until finally seeking help for PTSD and Panic Disorder. He now advocates for everyone who has suffered trauma to seek help.

In hi seventh year of teaching, Chad has become disenchanted with public education and, frankly, disgusted by standardized testing and the bureauacracy plaguing K-12 schools. His goal is to restore education by restoring educators.
